CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan. 14, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Three Premier, Inc. (Nasdaq:PINC) population health professionals have earned certification from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Certified Content Experts™.
On December 16, two Premier directors of population health, Carla Dunn, MA, BSN, and Brigid Byrne, EdD, ARNP-BC, CPHQ, received NCQA PCMH Content Expert Certification. In addition, Josh Bennett, MD, MBA, Premier principal of population health, became one of the first in the country to earn this distinction in July.
The Premier experts are among more than 250 population health professionals nationwide to earn NCQA certification for in-depth knowledge of the requirements, application process and documentation required for NCQA Recognition. Becoming NCQA Recognized requires deliberate strategies and efforts in transforming a practice into a medical home, and PCMH Content Experts play an important role in facilitating the process. This prestigious credential recognizes experts in the field and aligns them with NCQA's mission to improve the quality of healthcare.
Premier has extensive knowledge of the clinical, financial, operational and strategic components required to manage and improve population health. Premier's NCQA Content Experts leverage their experiences and provide real-world lessons learned from its PACT™ Population Health Collaborative to help hospitals and health systems better coordinate care.
The National Committee for Quality Assurance is a private, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving healthcare quality. Since its founding in 1990, NCQA has been a central figure in driving improvement throughout the healthcare system, helping to elevate the issue of healthcare quality to the top of the national agenda. www.ncqa.org
