SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 21, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Media Alert! Press Conference Thursday, January 23rd at 9 AM at Arc View Investment Forum in Las Vegas , NV

On the heels of President Obama's recent positive comments about marijuana policy reform (The New Yorker 1/27/14), cannabis pioneers, candidates for Congress, and high net-worth investors from around the world eager to invest in the fast-growing legal cannabis industry will gather in Downtown Vegas on January 23rd for a Shark Tank-like pitch forum. A dozen of the top applicants to the ArcView Investor Network will pitch approximately 120 high net-worth accredited investors on their cannabis business dreams in a private meeting only open to its members.

The ArcView Investor Network, started in November of 2011, had approximately 25 investor members a year ago. It now has approximately 125 members, each looking to invest at least $50,000, who pay an annual fee of $3,500-$5,000 to be members of this elite group. The ArcView Investor Network includes billionaires, tech entrepreneurs turned angel investors, venture capital firms, real estate moguls, some of the largest donors to marijuana policy efforts who are now turning to the business and the owners of some of the most successful brands in the burgeoning legal cannabis industry who are looking to make strategic acquisitions. The news media will be invited to participate in a news conference to start the day where they will hear from companies and investors that have successfully closed deals recently. More than 10 companies have reported raising more than $4 million due to their participation in ArcView, just since April. These are some of the first angel investments in this newly structured sector of the economy.
