Port Commission and Board of Pilot Meetings Rescheduled
Container Terminal Gates May Open at 1 p.m., Pending Weather Conditions
HOUSTON, Jan. 27, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Due to inclement weather forecast for the Houston area on Tuesday, January 28, the Port of Houston Authority administrative office will be closed.
Port Commission and Board of Pilot Commissioner meetings originally set for Tuesday, January 28, have been rescheduled. The Port Commission of the Port of Houston Authority will meet in regular session on Friday, January 31, at 9 a.m., followed by a meeting of the Board of Pilot Commissioners at 10 a.m. or immediately following the adjournment of the Port Commission meeting.
Tours of the Port of Houston on the M/V Sam Houston vessel have been canceled on Tuesday, January 28, and Wednesday, January 29.

Bayport and Barbours Cut container terminal gates will *_NOT_* open on Tuesday at 7 a.m. for commercial truck traffic. If conditions permit, however, gate facilities may open at 1 p.m. An update regarding commercial business will be provided no later than 11 a.m., Tuesday morning, advising gate operating hours.
General Cargo Operations:
The Turning Basin General Cargo Terminal Truck Office will *_NOT_* open on Tuesday at 7 a.m. for commercial truck traffic. If conditions permit, however, gate facilities may open at 1 p.m. An update regarding commercial business will be provided no later than 11 a.m., Tuesday morning, advising gate operating hours.
An update will be provided tomorrow at 2 p.m. regarding administrative hours for Wednesday, January 29, on the Port Authority's website, portofhouston.com, and via social media.
