SoupMan's Famous Delicatessen & Restaurant Opens at Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City

NEW YORK, Feb. 13, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Soupman, Inc. (OTCBB:SOUP), the parent company of the best-tasting soup brand in the world, The Original SoupMan®, has officially opened its newest Original SoupMan's Famous New York Delicatessen & Restaurant at the Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City.

The restaurant sits alongside fellow tenants Dunkin' Donuts, Famous Famiglia Pizzeria, Häagen-Dazs® and Ruby's Diner in the casino's new "Quick Bites" food court.

The new restaurant and delicatessen model was inspired by the success of The Original SoupMan® franchise that has been operating in the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut since 2010. That location began offering an expansive menu of authentic NY delicatessen fresh cooked and carved meats, along with the Original SoupMan famous soups and other all-day menu items, to please the round-the-clock appetites of casino visitors.

The 1,000 square foot restaurant's menu features the world renowned Original SoupMan soups, a full authentic NY delicatessen menu including Al's 42nd Street Ruben, fresh sliced pastrami, corned beef, oven-roasted turkey and roast beef all slow-cooked on premises. The menu also has a traditional full breakfast including bagels & lox, a NY tradition. The next Soupman Delicatessen & Restaurant is slated to open later this year at the Mohegan Sun in Pocono Downs in Pennsylvania. Over the next five years, the company plans to open 25 franchised units in casinos across the US. These high traffic locations are expected to generate sales of $2 million annually.

"We are honored to be selected as one of the brands for this new food court at the new Resorts Casino Hotel providing visitors with the SoupMan Famous Soups along with our complete New York Delicatessen & Restaurant anytime day or night," said Lloyd Sugarman, CEO of The Original SoupMan. "I am elated that Bill White and Robert Azinian, my long-time Johnny Rockets franchisees, are the operating franchise owners of SoupMan at this location. I know our brand, product and this new operating model will attract more successful, multi-unit, multi-brand operators. That's the plan."
