A real-time Pokemon stream developed by an anonymous Australian programmer has been attracting thousands of people around the world, re/code reports.

Twitch Plays Pokemon, which allows users to simultaneously play Nintendo's old version of the Pokemon game, has gone viral. Its Reddit community has lured more than 50,000 subscribers, and the stream-inspired memes are exploding the Internet.
