Finance ministers from the G-20 world economies meeting in Sydney are expected to put a target on global growth for the first time, sources told CNBC on Sunday.

The sources, who declined to be named, said a specific number for global growth is likely to be announced after the meeting.

World's financial leaders will agree to implement reforms and policies that would aim to accelerate global economic growth by an extra 2 percentage points over five years, Reuters quoted an unnamed G-20 official as saying earlier on Sunday.
