USHCC Announces Salt Lake City to Host 2014 National Convention

WASHINGTON, March 17, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) officially announced its 2014 National Convention – the largest gathering of Hispanic business leaders in America – will be held September 21-23 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah. Each year, the USHCC brings its premier event to a destination that is renowned for its economic prowess, pro-business environment, and embrace of cultural diversity.

The 'Beehive State' is ranked the number one pro-business state by the Wall Street Journal, was named the 'Best State for Business and Careers' by Forbes for three consecutive years, and its Hispanic population has grown by more than 80% in the past decade. The state's strong economic record, together with its scenic beauty and powerful Hispanic business community, make Salt Lake City the ideal destination for the 2014 USHCC National Convention.

"The USHCC is proud to take its 2014 National Convention to Salt Lake City, Utah. Our association represents the interests of America's 3.2 million Hispanic-owned businesses, which together contribute more than $468 billion to our nation's economy, each year. Utah represents America's business future, and as the largest business organization of our kind, the USHCC is committed to highlighting the most innovative and business-friendly places for entrepreneurs and corporations to invest in. The state's pro-business environment — coupled with its rapidly growing Hispanic business community — make Salt Lake City the natural choice for our upcoming 2014 National Convention," said USHCC President & CEO Javier Palomarez.

"In Utah, we appreciate all those who are an economic force for good in this nation," said Governor Gary R. Herbert. "Whether you are visiting Utah for the first time or call our state home, I would encourage each of you to make the most of all our business-friendly state has to offer."

"Utah is home to more than 10,000 Hispanic-owned businesses, that together contribute over $1.3 billion to the state's economy, every year," said Don Salazar, Founder and CEO of Utah-based CTI Construction. "The Salt Lake City business community is thrilled to welcome the USHCC to state's capital, and celebrate the unprecedented accomplishments of local Hispanic entrepreneurs."

With more than 6,000 guests each year, the USHCC National Convention serves as a premier networking venue, bringing together major U.S. corporate executives, public officials, chamber leaders and entrepreneurs seeking to establish strategic, long-lasting partnerships with the Hispanic business community.
