New Menu Items Summed Up in One Word: LYFE-alicious
IRVINE, Calif., April 2, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Buffalo Chicken Strips. Baked Garlic Parmesan Sweet Potato Fries. Pizzadillawich. These indulgent sounding dishes that would make any mouth water are now just as good for you as they are delicious, thanks to LYFE Kitchen. Among the new menu items patrons will see as of April 2nd in LYFE Kitchen's Chicago and three California restaurants are:
- Pizzadillawich (a stuffed pizza-like sandwich with melted cheese, fresh roasted vegetables and fresh basil, served alongside hot tomato sauce for dipping, and shhh, it's gluten free),
- Baked Garlic Parmesan Sweet Potato Fries (served with a spicy chipotle aioli and topped with freshly grated parmesan, freshly chopped garlic and fresh herbs ala "Truffle Fries"),
- Buffalo Chicken Wrap (featuring four super foods including avocado, black beans, Greek yogurt and kale, wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla),
- Quinoa Crunch Bowl (protein-rich, plant-based dish with quinoa, black rice, hummus, avocado, cucumber, cherry tomatoes and broccoli, drizzled with spicy fireman's hot sauce and chipotle vinaigrette).

Chef Jeremy Bringardner, LYFE Kitchen's Executive Corporate Chef, says the new items are a continuation of the restaurant's philosophy that eating well doesn't mean having to compromise on flavor or fun.
"I would be at a friend's house or at a wine bar seeing people enjoy "bar type" foods and say to myself 'we can make that type of fun fare delicious AND good for you,' " said Bringardner. "For example, we use fresh ingredients; we bake, not fry, our foods; we like to use an array of super foods and we offer many that are plant based and gluten free. And, of course, they all taste great."
Bringardner adds that as LYFE Kitchen expands its restaurants in Chicagoland, as well as opening new locations this year in Colorado, Nevada, New York and Texas, he and his chef team are always thinking out of the box to make each restaurant a unique experience – like vertical farming to bring more local ingredients to urban areas.
