LONDON, April 2, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Willis Group Holdings plc (NYSE:WSH), the global risk adviser, insurance and reinsurance broker, has announced the appointment of Alan Hewitt as Multinational Practice Leader of the Global Human Capital and Benefits Practice, effective immediately.
Hewitt, who will be based in London, has extensive experience working in the human capital and benefits arena. Most recently he was International Benefits Director for Jardine Lloyd Thompson and before that he was Principal & Global Benefits consultant at Aon Consulting. This expertise will prove valuable as Hewitt joins an expanding team across Willis focused on driving growth of its Global Human Capital and Benefits Practice, which spans 120 countries.
The human capital and benefits market is one of the most significant high-growth areas in the insurance and consulting sector. There continues to be a centralised purchasing trend by clients, who are increasingly looking to buy globally rather than locally in order to drive efficiencies and increase value from the services they procure.
James Blaney, CEO of Willis North America's Human Capital and Benefits Practice, commented: "Multinational clients expect a sophisticated and analytical approach to meet the needs of large, diverse and truly global workforces. We also see demand for a consistent range of consulting services across geographies for our global clients. Alan has over 20 years of consulting experience in the international employee benefits sector, specialising in the design and implementation of global programmes. As such he will play a key role, working with Willis colleagues in all continents, to develop a value-added proposition that combines local expertise with worldwide reach and perspective to deliver the services our clients need."
