NC SECU Teams Up With Cintas to Bring Free Shred Events Statewide

RALEIGH, N.C., April 16, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- State Employees' Credit Union (SECU) and Cintas, a leader in secure document management services, will host free community shred events in approximately 50 SECU locations statewide over the next year, providing Credit Union members and area citizens a safe and secure resource to shred confidential personal and business documents. The shred events were a benefit added for SECU members when the Credit Union signed a contract with Cintas Corporation to provide document shredding, electronic equipment recycling and hard drive destruction for the Credit Union's 253 branches and five operations centers throughout North Carolina.

During the events, which will be promoted locally by area SECU branches, documents will be shredded by an on-site, certified Cintas employee. From drop-off to destruction, all documents will be constantly monitored and protected.

"Identity theft is a growing threat for individuals and businesses across the nation," explained Michael Mullins, General Manager of Cintas Document Management. "Shred events bring awareness for proper document management to the community, providing a secure method to safely dispose of information. More importantly, these events will give individuals peace of mind that their sensitive information will not end up in the wrong hands."
