Hollywood has been buzzing lately about rumors actor Matt Damon could star as Aquaman in Warner Bros.' upcoming superhero action flick "The Justice League."
But Damon—who won a Golden Globe for best screenplay for "Good Will Hunting," which he co-wrote with friend and actor Ben Affleck—just laughed the idea off during a CNBC interview on Tuesday.
"Since they made Ben Batman, I've been showing up at his house every day dressed as Robin, but my little campaign I don't think has gone too well so far," joked Damon on "Closing Bell."

Playing an amphibious superhero might not be a stretch for Damon, if only to promote Water.org, a non-profit he co-founded to provide safe drinking water and sanitation to developing countries around the world.
"If dressing up in yellow tights somehow moved the needle on this issue, I would be willing to do that," he said. "I've done sillier stuff."
