The NBA's new commissioner Adam Silver could sit down to lunch with you, but you'll have to foot the bill.

CharityBuzz—which auctions off events with celebrities and notable people for charitable causes—is offering a lunch with Silver and his senior staff to benefit the Advertising Council. Bidding ends May 22, and so far one interested high roller has offered $12,500.

The newly minted commissioner has been in the news quite a bit these days. After only a few months on the job, he has had to wrestle with the scandal over LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling's recorded racist remarks.

Can Sterling challenge punishment for racist rant?

But that topic may be off the lunchtime table, even for the chunk of change the meeting is valued at.

The Ad Council, which will collect the proceeds from the lunch, sponsors public service announcements focusing on social issues such as health, raising families and education.

Other celebrities offering events and meetings for different causes on CharityBuzz include Apple CEO Tim Cook (currently bidding around $100,000), rock star Rob Zombie, and actor Matthew McConaughey.
