Rick Brodia, reporter at CNET, suffered a situation familiar to many of us: The screen on his new iPhone 5S cracked after his dog sent it flying out of his hand and onto his driveway.
Brodia balked at paying the likely hundred-dollar-plus fee that a professional, or Apple store employee, would likely charge him to fix it, so naturally he decided to buy a new screen and fix it himself.
