DALLAS, TEXAS, May 19, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- D2 Architecture, a Dallas-based firm committed to architecture for seniors, is presenting its innovative processes and work on Monday, May 19 at the 2014 LeadingAge Texas Annual Convention in Austin. The convention draws state and national participation and takes place from May 18-21, 2014 connecting thousands of professionals who specialize in various services for the aging. D2 Principal Grant Warner will be speaking with Ric D'Amico, Director of Development for Presbyterian Communities and Services, about the renovation process and its possibilities. D'Amico will discuss the importance of strategic planning, with Warner discussing the processes, terminology and technology used in reinvigorating existing buildings.
"We are excited to present our work with senior living in our home state at this year's LeadingAge Texas Convention," said Warner. "I am honored to be paired with Ric as we address the pressing topic of renovating existing senior living communities as one key component of meeting the growing needs of our elders."
Also at the LeadingAge Annual Meeting, D2 Architecture will present its unique Sleepover Project® on Monday, May 19 and Tuesday, May 20. As part of the Project, D2 architects spend 24 hours in a senior living facility, with a set of physical limitations intended to simulate the disabilities of a normal resident at the community. The Project gives D2 staff a hands-on, real-life opportunity to learn ways to make the design of senior living facilities better and to journal their observations for future publication.
D2 Architecture specializes in senior living facilities and they are committed to designing continuing care that works for all seniors and their caregivers. D2 Architecture has been designing senior living facilities for almost 20 years and is a recognized leader in the field.
