Salesforce.com CEO wanted to illustrate how quickly cloud computing is reshaping workplaces, and had a telling example.
"I run my business entirely on my phone," CEO Marc Benioff said. "I believe this is the future."
As companies store less and less data on site, more will no longer need desktops, he said.
Benioff spoke at the technology-focused inaugural Code Conference near Los Angeles.

Workday CEO Aneel Bhursi, who also spoke, said that concerns companies have about the security of cloud computing is largely unfounded.
Cloud storage has historically been much more secure than data secured on-premise, he said.
