Apple's Craig Federighi says the company looked long and hard across California for a good name for its next operating system—with a doobie break in-between, of course.
Federighi, speaking at the World Wide Developers Conference, said Apple's team discarded names like OS X Oxnard and OS X Rancho Cucamonga before taking a detour to far northern California for a sample of "OS X Weed." (Northern California is famed as a hotbed for the stuff).
He was kidding, of course, and Apple settled on OS X Yosemite for the next OS's name—but within minutes "OS X Weed" was the top trending topic on Twitter.
