After-hours buzz: Adobe Systems, La-Z Boy & more

Check out which companies are making headlines after the bell Tuesday:

Actavis - The pharmaceutical company and Forest Laboratories said shareholders had approved their merger. Shares of both companies edged higher in after-hours trading.

Adobe Systems - The design software maker posted second-quarter adjusted earnings per share of 37 cents on $1.07 billion in revenue. Expectations called for EPS of 30 cents on $1.03 billion in sales. Shares jumped in after-hours trading.

Endocyte - The drug developer said Merck, through a subsidiary, had decided it would no longer pursue development of vintafolide, a drug recently tested in patients with non-small cell lung cancer. Shares of Endocyte sank in after-hours trading.

La-Z Boy - The producer of reclining chairs reported fourth-quarter earnings per share of 23 cents on $353 million in revenue. Analysts had estimated EPS of 32 cents on $368 million in sales. Shares fell in after-hours trading.
