BIRMINGHAM, Ala., June 17, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Teksouth Corporation announced today that it has received a prime award under the U.S. General Services Administration's (GSA) new One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services (OASIS) contract vehicle. The awards were announced last month; Teksouth was one of 23 awarded "large business prime" status under Pool 2, joining such recognized industry leaders as Booz Allen Hamilton, PricewaterhouseCoopers, SAIC, Unisys and more.
OASIS was developed in response to the government's substantial need for a hybrid, government-wide acquisition vehicle that provides a streamlined solution for both commercial and non-commercial requirements for professional services. OASIS is designed to reduce duplication of contracting efforts across the government and provide Federal agencies with comprehensive, integrated contract options. OASIS is designed to reduce costs, and increase efficiency by lessening the time spent on developing complex contracts.
Federal Times quotes a research firm as saying the market for all of the services offered through OASIS adds up to about $60 billion per year. The publication also says GSA expects to award contracts totaling up to $6 billion per year to 74 companies, including Teksouth, which have been designated as prime contractors under OASIS.
"Teksouth is especially pleased that, through the OASIS designation, we are recognized by the Federal Government as a trusted, 'best-in-class' contractor," said Joe Nizolak, Teksouth's Vice President of Business Development. "Our award provides government agencies with the confidence that we can successfully deliver on a wide range of projects, completing them on-time and on-budget. This is critical in today's cost-conscious environment, where accounting for the spending of every tax dollar is more important than ever."
Teksouth is uniquely qualified to perform work for Federal agencies under the OASIS prime status, having fulfilled projects for a wide range of agencies such as the U.S. Joint Service Southern, African and Pacific Commands, as well as the Army, Air Force and National Guards from coast to coast, including New York, Georgia and Hawaii.
Staff Ouderkirk, Teksouth's President, said, "In selecting Teksouth, the Government recognizes the strategic value we deliver, and we are delighted to join many of the nation's largest consulting firms in being certified to solving customer challenges."
