CNBC Meets: Aerin Lauder, part one
CNBC Meet's Tania Bryer speaks to Aerin Lauder, granddaughter of the late Estee Lauder, founder of the billion dollar beauty empire, who discusses how she left her famous surname behind to launch her own luxury lifestyle brand, AERIN.
Born in Manhattan in 1970, Lauder worked for the family business for 25 years before realising her dream of launching a brand of her own, focusing on homeware and accessories.
Lauder speaks of the difficulties her grandmother overcame to launch her business, as the daughter of a Hungarian immigrant in 1946 with limited English.
Lauder describes her "privileged" upbringing in New York before moving to Washington as a teenager.
