Phoenix, July 24, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Mobelisk is now delivering MoGo Chimera™ a flexible, durable, and completely customizable product that allows companies to economically implement enterprise tablet solutions for a wide variety of mobile applications across their business. Additionally, the MoGo Chimera is available through SYNNEX, a global IT distribution corporation which serves a variety of customers including direct and value-added resellers, system integrators and retailers.
The MoGo Chimera is a revolutionary tablet "smart case" that enables companies to utilize the power, economy and functionality of off-the-shelf seven to eight inch consumer tablets, transforming them into a durable, secure mobile enterprise solution with a modular architecture that allows a company to add exactly the functionality needed for their individual business needs. The MoGo Chimera encloses a readily-available consumer tablet, making it rugged enough to withstand the rigors of daily, mobile jobsite use. The MoGo Chimera smart case can be delivered in custom colors and with a company's individual marketing graphics, to add distinction and enhanced branding.
"The MoGo Chimera makes tablet computing functionally and economically viable for a wide range of businesses that can benefit from the advantages of mobile computing," said Dennis Hamann, Mobelisk's CEO. "Many businesses are deploying unique use cases that require specialized functions not available in consumer tablets. The MoGo Chimera bridges that gap, utilizing economical, readily-available consumer tablets, and enabling businesses to add the specific features and functionality that they require, like bar code readers or mobile payment systems, and delivering it all in a rugged, secure and powerful case that delivers unparalleled flexibility and functionality."
The key to MoGo Chimera's solution is the propriety transposer layer (Patent Pending). This layer is custom designed to flexibly integrate with each specific seven- to eight-inch tablet on the market, like Google Nexus 7, Samsung Galaxy Tab 7", and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8". The transposer layer also includes electromechanical button actuation giving the user an enhanced button-feel and the ability to custom program buttons. MoGo Chimera's rugged, durable shell then surrounds the transposer layer. The shell allows companies to choose from a selection of end caps to fit their specific needs. MoGo Chimera end caps include features such as 1D and 2D barcode scanners, magnetic card readers and several other options. Companies are encouraged to work directly with Mobelisk to create additional MoGo Chimera end caps specific to their needs. All MoGo Chimera smart cases are assembled according to the customer's design specifications in Mobelisk's Arizona facility, and can be customized with a company's colors or logo.
The case also features several standard key functions to help upgrade consumer tablets for enterprise use. The smart case includes its own 5200mAh battery which more than doubles the life of a consumer tablet to ensure it stays powered for multiple shifts of heavy usage. In addition, the smart case features enhanced durability with sealed electronics to meet both Mil Std 810g and IP54 standards for enhanced shock, water and dust protection. This ensures that a tablet can be dropped from a height of 1 meter onto a concrete floor on any side with no damage, and can operate in less forgiving environments both inside and outdoors. The device can be locked down using an outside software platform or proprietary encryption standards and internal IT systems, ensuring that only employees or authorized users have access.
"We initially launched MoGo Chimera at CTIA 2013 to tremendous acclaim. Since then, we've been working with customers and partners across a variety of industries to optimize and refine MoGo Chimera's features for each customer's specific requirements, and to add functionality that our customers requested," explained Hamann. "We are now shipping MoGo Chimera solutions to customers in the commercial construction, fleet management, transportation and logistics, specialty beverage and landscape maintenance fields. These widely varied use cases show that the MoGo Chimera can provide the perfect mobile enterprise solution that fits the specific needs of virtually any company that can benefit from a mobile computing platform."
