Produced by Toei Animation Co., Ltd., the animation of One Piece began airing in 1999. Not only was it a big hit in Japan, popularity and brand influence in the Chinese market have been increasing year over year. It continued to rank No.1 in terms of view click rankings on Sohu TV, who is the authorized online video broadcast provider. Ikkyuu San is also one of the earliest animations arriving in mainland China, very popular among people who are born in the 1970s and 1980s. In the latest Japanese Anime Baidu Search Billboard, One Piece and Ikkyuu San rank among the highest in the ranking. Both were selected by a number of online media as "Top 10 must see animations by the young".
