A hospital patient in Columbus, Ohio tested negative after falling ill following a recent trip to a West African country affected by the Ebola virus.
The city's public health department confirmed the hospitalization in a statement early Tuesday.
On Monday a New York City hospital said it was testing a patient who came in sick after a trip to West Africa, though officials later said "odds are" the person does not have Ebola.
NBC reported Monday that there had been more than 20 inquiries to U.S. officials about suspected Ebola cases over the prior week, though none of the people in question came back with the disease.
