Hub's Commercial Real Estate Execs to Gather Sept. 9 at RealShare BOSTON to Trade Forecasts, Strategies; Barros to Keynote

NEW YORK, Aug. 11, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Boston's commercial real estate movers and shakers will gather Sept. 9 at RealShare BOSTON, the industry's premier educational and networking conference. Hosted by ALM's Real Estate Media Group, publishers of GlobeSt.com and Real Estate Forum, the event will take place at The State Room, atop the 60 State Street tower, from 7:30 a.m. until noon.

"The Boston market is heating up, and there is no better place to hear about specific market conditions, across all the property sectors, and what is happening on the ground, locally and nationally, than at RealShare BOSTON," said Michael Desiato, vice president and group publisher of ALM's Real Estate Media Group. "And aside from the formal sessions, this is a venue where old business relationships are renewed and valuable new ones are forged."

Keynoting the event with a review of the region's economic outlook will be John F. Barros, the City of Boston's first Chief of Economic Development, a key post in a new administration that has promised major changes at the Boston Redevelopment Authority. Mr. Barros will discuss job growth, redevelopment prospects, and what we can expect to see in Boston's future.

Other conference panels include:

Town Hall Power Panel. Industry experts will cover the state of the regional market and provide an outlook for 2014 into 2015. With the high demand for space in greater Boston, industry leaders will reveal the driving factors in each sector.

Office Space: What's Driving Demand? As Boston continues to progress as the innovation hub, creative space is at the forefront of tenant demand. Not only are biotech and other technology-intensive companies seeking inventive work spaces, but media organizations, design firms and other creative players are looking to jump in as well. Hear from office experts on what is driving the demand, the new shared space trend, what tenants are looking for in new space, and what is being redeveloped and transformed into creative office space.

Multifamily: What's next for Boston? Boston's multifamily market is hot and everyone wants in on the action. Buyers in the region and across the country are investing in the multifamily space Boston has to offer. What are the future plans for urging builders to develop more middle class housing in Boston's neighborhoods, as opposed to more extravagantly-priced downtown condos? With the population of millennials growing in downtown Boston, how will these multifamily projects cater to their needs? Hear from multifamily experts on what's fueling the apartment boom.

Other conference highlights will include a special session on the impact of climate change and the presentation of the results of a market survey conducted for law firm Goulston & Stors by ALM Legal Intelligence.
