Sterling Shuman Joins Shore Bank Baltimore LPO as Senior Credit Officer

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., Aug. 25, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Hampton Roads Bankshares, Inc. (Nasdaq:HMPR) (the "Company"), the holding company for The Bank of Hampton Roads and Shore Bank ("Shore"), today announced that Sterling E. Shuman, Jr. has joined Shore's Loan Production Office (LPO) in Baltimore as Senior Credit Officer. He has over 37 years of banking experience in the region.

Shuman most recently served as Senior Credit Officer at Patapsco Bank of Baltimore. His previous experience included serving as Chief Credit Officer at CFG Community Bank, Regional Credit Officer at Provident Bank, Senior Vice President, Credit Officer of the Metro DC Region for Signet Bank of Maryland and Virginia, and Vice President, Real Estate Loan Administration for Equitable Bank in Baltimore.

Shuman received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Towson University in Baltimore, and a Masters of Business Administration from Loyola College in Baltimore.
