Known for his fiery brand of economic analysis, CNBC's Rick Santelli decided he needed an ice water shower on Wednesday.
The longtime CNBC correspondent had his daughter douse him as part of the ongoing ALS ice bucket challenge, the viral fundraising effort that has flooded social media in recent weeks. Santelli was answering a challenge from CME Group Executive Chairman and President Terrence Duffy.
Santelli challenged "Squawk Box" anchor Joe Kernan, "The Interest Rate Observer" author Jim Grant and ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons to complete their own ice bucket challenges.
The viral charitable sensation has helped the ALS Association raise nearly $80 million as of this Monday, the association said in a news release.
