VDC Display Systems Announces Ed Boland as US Director of Business Development

ATLANTA, Sept. 4, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Video Display Corporation (Nasdaq:VIDE) is pleased to announce that the Company's VDC Display Systems subsidiary in Cape Canaveral, Florida, leading supplier of customized, integrated solutions for training, simulation, command and control, 3-D Immersive, planetariums, home theater and other specialized applications, has retained Mr. Ed Boland as the Company's US Director of Business Development. In his new role he will report directly to the subsidiary's president, Mr. Marcial Vidal.

Mr. Boland will be responsible for both sales and market development of a variety of high resolution projection display systems designed and manufactured in-house as well as custom-engineered OEM sourced display systems. VDC Display Systems represents a comprehensive list of products including SONY Professional Products and OEM LED and Laser Light Source Display.

Ed Boland is a very well recognized and respected name in the display industry. He brings to VDC Display Systems 28 years of experience in providing engineering support and sales management for all SONY broadcast and professional products with Sony Professional Solutions. He has managed major display projects in the visual entertainment and visual simulation markets and was instrumental in the Digital Cinema transition from film to 4K digital display and in the development of the 4K professional display technology while at Sony.

Mr. Boland was a key member of the Sony professional display group and as of September 8th, 2014, he becomes a key member of VDC Display Systems sales organization.
