Kroger fell despite posting better than expected second-quarter sales and raising its full-year outlook.
Pandora moved higher on a licensing deal with BMG for its complete BMI and ASCAP catalog of musical works.
Chipotle fell. Janney Montgomery Scott said it thinks the stock can hit $1,300 by 2020.
Liberty Global moved higher. The international television and telecommunications firm struck a deal with Comcast, the parent of CNBC, to give customers of both access to each other's WiFi hotspots by 2015. Separately, Vodafone's chief executive said Liberty Global could be a good fit for the right price, according to Bloomberg.
Helmerich & Payne climbed after the energy firm was upgraded by Argus to "buy" from "hold."
