Two days before the iPhone 6 goes on sale, Apple will release its updated operating system. iOS 8 will be available to all existing iPads and iPhones on Wednesday.
Consumers are the primary users of iPhones and iPads, but iOS is going to be good news for IT administrators. "An estimated 67 percent of all business device activations are for iOS devices," said Dan Costa, editor-in-chief at PCMag.com.
"(Administrators) will be able to load and remove apps and limit user's ability to do the same," added Costa.
A "perfect marriage" is what Tim Cook called the Apple-IBM alliance. Cook announced that Apple will bring more than 100 custom-built apps with IBM starting later this year, built on IBM's cloud and software stacks.
IBM is going to be developing iOS enterprise application for a number of Fortune 500 companies. "This is a market that Apple never really tapped before," Costa said.
