BOONE, N.C., Sept. 19, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Appalachian Mountain Brewery, Inc. (OTC:HOPS), announced today it was approved by "DTC," Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation, for full eligibility of the company's common stock. Securities that are eligible to be electronically cleared and settled through the DTC are considered "DTC eligible. "DTC eligibility increases the efficiency and lowers the costs associated with trading AMB's shares on the OTC Market, while increasing security with guaranteed settlement lowering transaction risk for our investors. Securing DTC eligibility reflects our ongoing efforts to support our growing investor base in the U.S. and abroad," stated, Sean Spiegelman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Appalachian Mountain Brewery, Inc.
Through multiple operating facilities and data centers around the world, Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation and its subsidiary companies automate, centralize, and standardize the processing of stock transactions for thousands of institutions worldwide, processing hundreds of billions in dollar volume each year. Attaining full DTC eligibility was an essential step for Appalachian Mountain Brewery because it provides market makers and brokerage firms representing investors that are trading HOPS shares with an efficient and effective means of executing and settling trades electronically (paperless trading), thereby enabling greater liquidity and expanding the potential pool of investors worldwide. Reaching this milestone was a strategic move forward for AMB to continue on its steady growth plan toward raising additional capital thru its current private placement to be employed to further increase capacity and expand distribution of its craft beer and hard cider. DTCC's subsidiaries process annually securities transactions valued at approximately US$1.7 quadrillion. Its depository provides custody and asset servicing for securities issues from 122 countries and territories valued at US$39.5 trillion. DTCC's global OTC derivative trade repositories record more than US$500 trillion in gross national value of transactions made worldwide across multiple asset classes.
