Apple—The iPhone maker fell amid a batch of negative news surrounding a glitch in its operating system update. Apple was forced to release a workaround for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users experiencing drops in cellular service.

Jabil Circuit—The supplier of electronics for Apple and Cisco Systems rose after projecting quarterly earnings that beat estimates.

GameStop—The video-game publisher gains after saying it would hire about 25,000 workers across the U.S. for the upcoming holiday shopping season.

HB FullerThe adhesives maker dropped after projecting fourth-quarter adjusted earnings below market expectations.

Hewlett-PackardThe personal-computer maker declined after The Globe and Mail reported the company could be looking at a decade-long ban as technology provider to Canada's government.

LipoScienceThe developer of diagnostic tests rallied after agreeing to be purchased by Laboratory Corp. of America in a cash deal valued at $85.3 million.

Scholastic The education and publishing company rose after reporting fiscal first-quarter results.

TiffanyThe high-end jeweler gained in pre-market trading after Sterne Agee raised its price target to $110 a share and reiterated a buy rating.
