Automakers are in focus this week as the Paris Motor Show shifts into gear on Saturday, and investors will pay special attention to how big brands plan to stay competitive.
Toyota Motor could grab headlines as investors anticipate the launch of its first hydrogen-powered fuel cell sedan and the third-generation Yaris model.
The plug-in hybrid version of Volkswagen's Passat sedan, called the Passat GTE, is also on the agenda. Meanwhile, American auto giant Ford is due to unveil the latest models of its S-Max and C-Max multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs), as well as its new Mondeo and Focus models. In 2013, the Focus was the world's best-selling car with around 1.1 million units sold.
