CLEARWATER, Fla., Oct. 8, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Tech Data Corporation (Nasdaq:TECD) today announced the introduction of a new cloud-focused education and enablement program through Tech Data's TDCloud business unit. Offered as part of TDCloud Academy, the program offers customized education tracks for solution providers focused on launching, expanding, and maximizing cloud businesses. TDCloud Academy is Tech Data's tiered cloud education program for solution providers, designed to accelerate adoption of cloud solutions and identify new cloud opportunities. The announcement was made in conjunction with Tech Data's TDCloud Partner Summit, taking place this week in Miami, Florida.
"The evolution of cloud computing continues to remain a key focus area for Tech Data and solution providers," said Stacy Nethercoat, vice president, Product Marketing, TDCloud at Tech Data. "To enable growth, Tech Data is launching a new strategic cloud program in TDCloud Academy that is custom-built for the business needs of our solution providers at all stages of growth. Through the program, Tech Data is readying solution providers for a key trend in IT—cloud-based business solutions."
Through TDCloud, solution providers will learn how to create cloud-based business solutions and create sustainable, tiered cloud practices. Consisting of six modules in each track, the program includes value-added training, eLearning and consulting, all offered by TDCloud's team of experts through TDCloud Academy. The three tracks available to solution providers are:
- Launch Your Cloud Business: Ideal for solution providers who are seeking to build cloud architecture within their business, this education track covers the value of cloud, business drivers, value propositions and how to work with TDCloud to launch a successful cloud business.
- Expand Your Cloud Business: Designed for solution providers with recurring cloud sales who want to grow their cloud business to the next level, these education modules are focused on creating a cloud culture, aligning people and processes, marketing, networking and more.
- Maximize Your Cloud Business: For solution providers seeking a cloud-focused business model, this track focuses on transitioning to cloud, leading with cloud, creating complete cloud business modules and strategic end-customer planning.
Tech Data will evaluate and identify the right education track for solution providers through a customized Partner Evaluation Tool, a self-scoring system that analyzes knowledge, business infrastructure and attitudes toward cloud computing.
"We are excited about the education and enablement program Tech Data is offering through TDCloud," said David Bubb, Sales director at Custom Systems. "As the evolution of the cloud progresses, we are constantly looking for new ways to grow our business and create new pockets of profitability. We thank Tech Data for their partnership and look forward to participating in the education program."
Tech Data's TDCloud business unit is a team of cloud experts dedicated to supporting its channel of solution providers through education, enablement, and adoption of cloud and subscription-based services. TDCloud is powered by Tech Data's StreamOne platform, an automated buying, selling, provisioning and billing system for cloud and subscription-based services technology that scales the business and operational scope.
