The series will look at small to medium sized, single discipline companies that are successful both at home and abroad – known as Mittelstand in Germany – and whether this model can be successful on a large, global scale.
This new two and a half minute video segment series, will exclusively air on CNBC in the United States, and on CNBC World. Video episodes will also be available on demand across all CNBC's digital and mobile platforms.
Family Affair: Rise of The Mittelstand will showcase 25 unique businesses, selected by CNBC and a panel of experts, whose family-run model has positively impacted their growth. The series and report will look at what makes a successful mid-market company worldwide, and how key tenets of the successful German Mittelstand model contribute to business successes internationally.
Each video episode will look at THE OWNERS, THE BUSINESS and THE FUTURE, with additional video content explaining the Mittelstand model and its success as the backbone to the German economy.
The cross-platform sponsorship of the series and digital special report series which starts this month, builds awareness of Germany Trade and Invest as a key part of its campaign to promote businesses abroad, and its support measures offered to companies looking to enter Germany with expert advice to key decision makers in businesses.
