Apple recruiting evangelists to promote smartwatch

In anticipation for the Apple Watch launch in Spring 2015, Apple is beefing up its team of tech evangelists—think of them as messengers of good news but for Apple's tech and products.

The company is hiring an Apple Watch evangelist who is tasked with kindling interest and excitement about the watch among third-party app developers and persuading them to create Apple Watch apps.

The Watch evangelist must also function as a technical liaison between the company and app developers by communicating "app architecture, design, and programming best-practices," according to the job description on Apple's website.

The recruitment effort comes at a good time since the Apple Watch is expected to launch in Spring 2015 in three different versions.

Apple did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
