SEATTLE, Nov. 11, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sensoria Inc., leading developer of IoE (Internet of Everyone) wearable solutions, has been named a 2015 CES Innovation Awards Honoree for its smart Sensoria Fitness Socks.
Delivering on the vision that The Garment is the Computer®, Sensoria Fitness Smart Socks utilize novel textile sensors to detect activity type and impact forces. The data from the sock is transmitted through a featherweight, detachable anklet via Bluetooth Smart to smartphones running the Sensoria Fitness mobile application. The Sensoria technology accurately monitors data important to runners including cadence and foot landing technique that play a crucial role in reducing impact forces. The mobile application analyzes this data and provides intuitive audio and visual feedback to runners during their running sessions. For the first time, runners gain real-time feedback to help adjust running form, improve performance, and reduce the risk of injuries.
"The Sensoria team is passionate about making an impact through intuitive use of technology, looks forward to CES and is honored by the recognition from this prestigious industry association. The Sensoria Fitness Smart Socks go beyond telling runners how far, how fast and how many calories they burn, like many existing trackers, by telling them how to improve landing technique, cadence and ultimately running form. No other device provides gait analysis and real-time feedback outside of the laboratory in a seamless and natural way," says Davide Vigano, Sensoria cofounder and CEO.
Sensoria Fitness Socks will be featured at the company's booth (#74132) during the 2015 International CES, which runs Jan. 6-9, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, the producer of the International CES, the global forum for the business of consumer technology, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976.
Entries were evaluated on their engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended use/function and user value, how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace and unique/novel features present.
Products chosen as CES Innovation Honorees reflect innovative design and engineering in some of the most cutting edge tech products and services coming to market.
