Omnitek Appoints Exclusive Representative to U.S. Military

VISTA, Calif., Nov. 14, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Omnitek Engineering Corp. (OTCQB:OMTK) today announced the appointment of Industrial Security Alliance Partners (ISAP), based in San Diego, California, as its exclusive authorized reseller for all Omnitek products to the U.S. military worldwide -- including the company's diesel-to-natural gas engine conversion kits and "drop-in" converted natural gas engines. Terms were not disclosed.

"The addition of ISAP to the Omnitek team significantly expands our potential customer base, with an estimated world-wide addressable market of more than 187,000 non-tactical fleet vehicles operated by the U.S. Department of Defense," said Werner Funk, president and chief executive officer of Omnitek Engineering Corp.

Funk added that tactical and non-tactical power generators represent another area of focus, where current systems consume more than 130 million gallons of diesel fuel on an annual basis to support power back up to Department of Defense installations. It is estimated that the Department of Defense spends approximately $20 billion per year on fossil fuels. "The Department of Defense is extremely focused on reducing its carbon footprint and energy costs, which complements the application of Omnitek Engineering's technology and value-proposition -- particularly for large-scale conversions," Funk said.

"Our exclusive reseller relationship with Omnitek represents a unique opportunity to leverage the country's domestic natural gas resources and provide stationary and vehicle power surety to the military around the world. Using clean and inexpensive natural gas not only reduces energy costs, but also has the potential to significantly reduce CO2 emissions," said Brian Kelly, chief executive officer of Industrial Security Alliance Partners. He noted that a $10 increase for a barrel of oil equates to an estimated $1.3 billion increase in the annual energy budget of the Department of Defense.

Funk noted that Omnitek's conversion technology offers a significant cost advantage compared with a new natural gas truck or engine purchase.
