Every year, the chamber recognizes a company and its employees for their contributions to the economic well-being of the community, in keeping with its mission to promote a climate for business that enhances the economic vitality and quality of life in Deer Park.

The Chamber Board's Salute to Industry Committee also selected the Port Authority for 2014 since the year marks a significant milestone: the Centennial of the Houston Ship Channel.

Executive Director Roger Guenther accepted the award on behalf of the Port Commission and the Port of Houston Authority and thanked the Chamber for its partnership and support. He discussed the growth, investment and commitments the Port Authority is making to ensure that it is ready for the bigger opportunities ahead.
