A hotel in the north of England that charged a couple £100 ($156) for leaving a "bad review" on travel website TripAdvisor, has scrapped the charge, the BBC reports.

Tony and Jan Jenkinson found that £100 had been charged to their credit card after they described the Broadway Hotel in Blackpool, where they had stayed, as a "rotten stinking hovel" in a critical review on the travel website.

The U.K.'s consumer protection body Trading Standards investigated after the couple complained, and after speaking to the hotel's owners, the fine was dropped, the BBC reported.
