ADVISORY, Nov. 24, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Sears Holdings Corporation/Kmart (Nasdaq:SHLD) will visit the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square in honor of the 11th annual St. Jude Thanks and Giving Campaign, which unites celebrities, media, retail and corporate partners in asking consumers to donate while they shop and support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The hospital freely shares the breakthroughs it makes, so every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Kmart is the all-time leading corporate fundraiser for St. Jude having raised more than $65 million through in-store and online donations since 2006. Shoppers can donate to help the children and families of St. Jude through a $1, $5 or $10 add-on program at check-out in all Kmart stores, or online via a link at www.kmart.com/StJude. These funds are critical given that no family ever pays St. Jude for anything.
In honor of the occasion, Marlo Thomas, National Outreach Director for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Randy Andresen, VP Kmart Retail will ring the Closing Bell along with St. Jude patients and their families.
