WIXOM, Mich., Nov. 25, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Rockwell Medical, Inc. (Nasdaq:RMTI), a fully-integrated biopharmaceutical company targeting end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) with innovative products and services for the treatment of iron deficiency, secondary hyperparathyroidism and hemodialysis, announced today the closing of the sale of 6,500,000 shares at $9.00 per share in an underwritten public offering for an aggregate offering amount of $58.5 million. The net proceeds from the offering, after commissions and other estimated offering expenses, were approximately $54.7 million. Rockwell has also granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 975,000 shares of common stock offered in the public offering.
The net proceeds of the offering will be used to repay outstanding secured indebtedness and for other general corporate purposes.
BofA Merrill Lynch is acting as the sole book-running manager for the proposed offering. Stifel is acting as Lead Manager and Summer Street Research Partners, Craig-Hallum Capital Group, Chardan Capital Markets, LLC and LifeSci Capital, LLC are acting as co-managers.
