(NYSE MKT:MDGN), the developer of a proprietary platform for the sustained production and delivery of therapeutic proteins and peptides in patients using ex vivo gene therapy and the patient's own tissue for the treatment of rare and orphan diseases, today announced the completion of an underwritten public offering of 5,893,750 shares of its common stock, including 768,750 shares sold pursuant to the full exercise of an option previously granted to the underwriters to purchase additional shares of common stock. All of the shares were offered by Medgenics at a price to the public of $4.10 per share. The gross proceeds from this offering to Medgenics were approximately $24.2 million, before deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and offering expenses payable by Medgenics.
Piper Jaffray & Co. acted as the sole book-running manager for the offering, and JMP Securities LLC, acted as co-manager for the offering.
