Varonis Announces Future Compatibility With Microsoft Office 365 Services for Enterprises Evolving to Cloud

NEW YORK, Dec. 2, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Varonis Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:VRNS), the leading provider of software solutions for unstructured, human-generated enterprise data, today announced the upcoming compatibility of its Varonis Metadata Framework platform with Microsoft Office 365 Services for Enterprise. Compatibility, which is scheduled to be introduced in the first half of 2015, will add to the depth of Varonis' commitments to protect customers' investments as they evolve their IT strategies to include cloud platforms.

Varonis has helped thousands of customers manage, protect and get more out of their unstructured data in on-premise IT infrastructures. In 2015, Varonis will begin to extend its core Metadata Framework to offer permissions visibility and auditing for Microsoft Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Active Directory for Office 365, hosted in Azure, Microsoft's cloud platform. Office 365 is Microsoft's cloud-based service offerings for its widely used applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, enabling businesses to augment existing systems with software and storage in the cloud.

Yaki Faitelson, Varonis Co-Founder and CEO, said, "The Metadata Framework, our core platform for delivering innovation through a growing range of products, has proven to be very agile, adding support for platform after platform. By using Varonis software with Office 365, anyone can harness the experience and flexibility of Microsoft's cloud offerings with the added productivity and security benefits that Varonis solutions provide. As the cloud becomes more mainstream and more organizations give serious consideration to the evolution of their IT strategies, the Varonis Metadata Framework will prove to be a very smart investment."

The Varonis Metadata Framework is the most established, capable and complete platform available for enabling control of unstructured, human-generated data. Compatibility with Microsoft Office 365, which will be made available in 2015, will enable organizations relying on Office 365 to provide the data management, access and security that today's realities require. This announcement means Varonis will provide complete solutions for unstructured data, regardless of whether the data is stored on-premise, in the cloud or through a hybrid approach.

The Varonis Metadata Framework has been developed from the ground up over the past decade as a single platform on a unifying code base, purpose-built to tackle the many challenges and opportunities that arise from the massive volumes of unstructured data files created and stored by organizations of all sizes. Currently powering five distinct Varonis products, the Varonis Metadata Framework intelligently extracts and analyzes metadata from customers' vast, distributed unstructured data stores and enables a variety of use cases, including data governance, data security, archiving, file synchronization, enhanced mobile data accessibility, search, and business collaboration.
