Sin City most searched destination in 2014

Yahoo has reported that the most searched US destination on its website for 2014 was Las Vegas.

Sin City, known for its casinos, gigs and exotic nightlife, took the top spot just above family-friendly Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, according to The Daily Mail.

Leisure destinations and coastal cities dominated the list as New Orleans, Atlantic City, and Key West took the remaining slots in the top five, according to the list. Major cities like New York and Chicago were absent from the top ten.

Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach, and New Orleans remained in the top three; a repeat of the 2013 list. Ocean City, Maryland was the only newcomer to this year knocking Gatlinburg, Tennessee from the list.

The search engine also reported Southwest Airlines as the most searched airline for 2014 with United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and US Airways in the remaining slots.

Marriott was the most searched hotel beating out Hilton, Best Western, Wyndham and Sheraton for the top spot.
