Coca-Cola Co says Q4 constant currency earnings growth to be even to slightly positive

Coca-Cola Co on Monday said earnings-per-share growth this quarter would be flat to slightly positive on a constant currency basis, potentially disappointing investors who appeared to be hoping for more.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters had expected Coke to report earnings of 44 cents per share in the fourth quarter. A year earlier the company reported earnings per share of 38 cents. That implies that analysts were expecting earnings growth of about 16 percent this quarter over last year.

Coke said currencies would be a 9-point headwind on earnings per share in the fourth quarter.
