Carmel Bach Festival Receives 2015 Arts Council For Monterey County Grant

CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, Calif., Jan. 15, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Carmel Bach Festival, a world-class festival of music and ideas celebrating the works, inspiration, and ongoing influence of J.S. Bach, announced today that it will be the recipient of a grant from the Arts Council For Monterey County. The funds will support 2015 Carmel Bach Festival programs including the second annual Fall Concert and a new in-school program in Seaside, Calif., plus the third annual Circle of Strings training workshop.

"Like art or film, live music is an essential part of our collective culture that everyone in the Monterey County community should have the opportunity to experience throughout the year," said Debbie Chinn, Carmel Bach Festival's Executive Director. "The Arts Council For Monterey County grant helps us do this by supporting a fall program tailor-made for the residents of Seaside. It also allows our world-renowned musicians to work directly with Seaside students and to provide training resources for music teachers as we collectively inspire a deeper level of learning among the next generation of strings performers in our region."

The grant extends Carmel Bach Festival's 2014 efforts to offer enriching musical experiences year-round to the Monterey County community.

"The Arts Council is thrilled to be a partner with the world famous Carmel Bach Festival. We are very grateful for their contributions to cultural tourism over the years, drawing in people from all over the world again and again," said Paulette Lynch, Executive Director of the Arts Council for Monterey County. "We are especially excited this year by their deepening commitment to serving everyone in Monterey County throughout the year. Their program in Seaside is especially promising, making it easy for young people there to learn from and to be inspired by world class musicians."
