Salesman to McD’s mogul: Who will play Ray Kroc?

Michael Keaton is in talks to play Ray Kroc, the man who catapulted McDonald's to the national stage, in an upcoming film called "The Founder," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the mid-1950s, Kroc met Dick and Mac McDonald, the owners of a small restaurant chain that concentrated on a limited menu. At the time, Kroc was a multi-mixer salesman.

After pitching the idea of a nationwide chain, they founded McDonald's Corp., and Kroc bought the exclusive rights to the name five years later.
