SpaceX raises $1B from Google, Fidelity

Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) said in a press release that it has raised $1 billion in a financing round with two new investors. Google and Fidelity have joined Founders Fund, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, Valor Equity Partners and Capricorn as investors in the American space transport services company.

The funding will support the company as it continues to design, manufacture, and launch space transport and satellites. Collectively, Fidelity and Google will own close to 10% of the company.
