ICAHN ON SHORTING THE EURO

WE SHORTED QUITE A BIT OF IT I'D SAY AT AROUND 1.27, 1.28, AND AS YOU KNOW, IT IS NOW 1.14. SO YOU SAY, WOW, ISN'T THAT SMART? BUT I SHORTED THAT EURO DOLLAR, I'D SAY, TWO AND A HALF, THREE YEARS AGO. AND I GRIT MY TEETH WHEN IT WENT FROM 1.27 TO 1.37. AND YOU KNOW, I FELT IT WAS A NO-BRAINER. I FELT THEY HAVE TO – THAT DOLLAR, THE EURO DOLLAR HAS TO BE DEVALUED.

ICAHN ON EBAY

EBAY HAS ACTED I THINK VERY RESPONSIBLY IN SAYING HEY, LOOK, AT LEAST A SPINOFF COMPANY – AND BY THE WAY, I AGREE WITH YOU, THAT IS ONE OF THE MAJOR REASONS THE STOCK IS UP TODAY. I MEAN THE EARNINGS WERE OKAY, BUT I DON'T BELIEVE IT'S UP ON THE EARNINGS. THAT'S MY BELIEF. IT'S UP BECAUSE OF THIS. BECAUSE THEY'VE ACTED VERY RESPONSIBLY WITH US.

ICAHN ON GANNETT

WE SENT THEM A NUMBER OF PROPOSALS THAT WE WANT TO HAVE THE SHAREHOLDERS VOTE ON AND WE'LL ASK THEM TO VOTE ON AT THE ANNUAL MEETING CONCERNING JUST THE STUFF THAT BASICALLY WAS DONE AT EBAY. SO, YOU KNOW, ABOUT THE PILL, THE SAME IDEA, THAT, YOU KNOW, THE SPINOFF COMPANY AT LEAST CAN BE AGGRESSIVELY SOUGHT. AND WE'LL SEE WHAT THEY DO.
