Nickelodeon to launch direct-to-consumer subscription service

Nickelodeon on Thursday said it plans to launch a direct-to-consumer subscription service, Dow Jones reported, citing Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman.

The service will have a different brand name, and will be aimed at the mobile market.

Details about the new service are expected to be unveiled at a Viacom's presentation in the spring, the newswire reported.
