Amdocs Wins International Quality Innovation of the Year Award for Amdocs BEAT(TM) - a Software-Based Testing Best-Practices Framework

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 12, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Amdocs (Nasdaq:DOX), the leading provider of customer experience solutions, today announced that its testing services practice has won the 2014 international Quality Innovation of the Year Award for its Amdocs BEATTM framework, a cloud-enabled, analytics-driven software platform consolidating the company's testing best-practice methodologies and tools. The award, in its eighth year, is organized by the Finnish Quality Association, Laatukeskus Excellence Finland, in coordination with other national quality organizations.

Further demonstrating Amdocs' innovation in this space, Amdocs also announced today the addition of two new tools to Amdocs BEATTM, addressing the need for innovative mobile testing environments and control tools as service providers look to introduce apps faster while ensuring a high-quality customer experience. The new tools are:

  • The Amdocs Mobile Quality Lab: A virtual, cloud-based testing environment which allows service providers to test new mobile offerings and Wi-Fi strategies remotely, on a wide variety of mobile devices and operating systems.
  • The Amdocs Mobile Report Center: Allows service provider stakeholders real-time visibility on their mobile devices into actual versus planned execution status of all testing projects underway, across any of the service provider's lines of business.

Amdocs BEATTM won the international Quality Innovation of the Year Award for its novel approach to testing, setting a new standard for projects within complex telecom software environments. In the rollout of new communications services, testing is a critical element and one which ultimately impacts the customer experience. With Amdocs BEATTM, testing professionals can make use of strong data analytics capabilities allowing automatic, risk-based test-case design and defect prediction, innovative workflow wizards which can be customized based on project needs, and easy-to-use monitoring and reporting tools for full and secure transparency.

"Incorporating best practices accumulated over more than 30 years in hundreds of projects worldwide, Amdocs BEATTM helps to ensure our testing projects target the areas most needed and optimize project quality and effectiveness," said Eric Updyke, group president, Systems Integration and Operations, Amdocs. "As a result, we improve on industry averages from both project quality1 and cost2 perspectives, delivering 70 percent less defects upon go-live at half the cost3. Ultimately, we enable our customers to introduce new services with a high-quality customer experience."

According to industry analyst firm NelsonHall4, Amdocs is the global market-share leader in testing services for communications service providers, with company strength attributed to its strong domain position and expertise, as well as to its test-case repository, which is the most updated for telecom software5.

Amdocs' testing services are part of Amdocs' comprehensive range of IT and business services which span the entire business lifecycle. Designed with a focus on innovation and business outcome, Amdocs' services help service providers drive growth, improve efficiencies and enhance the customer experience. Winning the international Quality Innovation of the Year Award for Amdocs BEATTM is further testament of Amdocs' leadership in this space.

More than 150 companies from different industries around the world competed for the award, in which there were 18 winners. The winners received a certificate signed by the President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, presented at a gala in Budapest last month.
